Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 2 June 2025

Taplings is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, device, or assistive technology. We strive to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility guidelines.

Our Approach

We have taken the following steps to support accessibility:

  • Semantic HTML — We use proper heading structure, landmark regions (main, nav, footer), and descriptive labels throughout the site.
  • Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard alone. Focus states are clearly visible.
  • Skip link— A “Skip to main content” link is available at the top of every page for keyboard and screen reader users.
  • Colour contrast — Text and interactive elements meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against their backgrounds.
  • Reduced motion— Animations are suppressed or simplified when the user has enabled “reduce motion” in their operating system or browser settings.
  • Screen reader support — Decorative elements are hidden with aria-hidden. Interactive elements carry descriptivearia-label attributes where needed.
  • Responsive design — The site is fully functional at all screen sizes, including mobile and tablet.
  • Alt text — All informative images include descriptive alternative text.

Known Limitations

As Taplings is a new website in active development, some areas may not yet fully meet our accessibility targets. We are actively working to address any gaps. If you encounter an issue, please let us know (see below).

Third-Party Content

Some embedded content or linked services (e.g., social media platforms) may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We have limited control over third-party content but aim to use accessible alternatives where possible.

Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of the Taplings website. If you experience any barriers, or if you need content in a different format, please contact us:
